The projection of graphic shapes and photographic elements derived from experiences of past houses and the promise of function of a new home. How can an empty shell change around an individual as they conceive living in a new space.
For example, when communicating warmth and security, the house’s walls cling around the body, creating a personal armour. While at other times when we seek solitude, the walls open up to produce a feeling of the outdoors. New structures are fashioned when our notions of the home are combined with empty living spaces.

Colognola; (Meaning “derived from; small estate”) The line drawings initially taking form of photographic works recorded over several days at a remote site in Le Marche, Italy.
The photographs of an uninhabited and dilapidated farmhouse and its selected details within were enlarged, and traced from many time to create new structural, energetic, delicate forms. The blue, red and yellow tones applied to the photographic pieces are taken directly from surfaces of the farmhouse.
The project is also study of the emotional affect our geographic environments have on us. The Colognola series seeks to project a new purpose and resurgence of life, onto and into this remote site and its immediate surroundings.
A response to texts by Juhani Pallasma, concerning the results of architecture on the senses, from his book The Eyes Of The Skin - Architecture And The Senses.
A series of digital collage works depicting ethereal spaces, slithers of memories from rooms with a personal history. The spaces become abstractions to their most basic structural shapes, deduced from initial pencil drawings made in a sketchbook, and on isometric graph paper.
Each portrays elements that had made the spaces individually resonant. For example, a warm coloured light shining in from outside, a noise from the adjacent flat, a feeling of loneliness or contentment, have all delineated how the partitions have been distributed in the images.
